KENYA: DRAFT GUIDELINES FOR MOBILE CELLULAR DEVICES

IN KENYA, a draft guidelines was published in March 2021 by the regulator. The document explains the conditions to be met before importing or marketing mobile equipment in Kenya. Several points are highlighted by the Communication Authority of Kenya in said document. Let us note the following points without the list being exhaustive.       1. A physical or electronic user manual shall accompany every mobile cellular device sold in Kenya.
      1. Vendors shall provide at least one (1) year warranty and ensure the availably of aftersales support for a further two (2) years period for each cellular device they sell.
      1. The test report submitted in type approval process as evidence of conformance to this specification shall be from test laboratory accredited under the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17011.
