SOUTH AFRICA : ICASA IS RAISINGS CONSUMER’S AWARENESS REGARDING THEIR RIGHTS

Users of telecommunications equipment are trained on the significance of their rights.
ICASA (Independent Communications Authority of South of Africa) is starting the awareness phase for users of telecommunications equipment. First, the target was set for the northwest region from February 28 to March 2 ,2019. For ICASA, March is the month of celebrating consumers awareness.
Indeed, through education campaigns, ICASA plans to create an interaction platform with consumers; this will better promote a more effective orientation for their consumption of electronic services. Through this initial phase of the campaign, consumers were trained on their rights and responsibilities in order to be protected from illegal practices and to have a safe environment. In addition, the regulator will continue to raise awareness among all segments of the society for a sound knowledge and understanding of their rights and responsibilities with a view to obtaining a better sector of the approval type in South Africa.
